Google announced today that the Rich Results Test is now out of beta.
Google announced that the Rich Results Test is out of beta and fully supports Google Search rich results features. They also said they will be deprecating the Structured Data Testing Tool and recommended the use of the Rich Results Test.
Google highlights the following reasons to use the Rich Results Test instead of the Structured Data Testing:
- Focused on what your markup will do for search results, rather than simply outlining structured data
- Checks both the Desktop and Mobile versions of a page, rather than one at a time.
- Aligned with the various reports from Google Search Console
The Rich Results Test is able to test every type of markup supported by Google’s Search results and has the ability to test either a whole URL or an isolated snippet.
The old Structured Data Testing Tool will be available for the time being according to Google but it will soon go away, so be prepared and start getting familiar with the Rich Results Test Tool and validate your structure data.
