Google announced that the Rich Results Test is out of beta and fully supports Google Search rich results features. They also said they will be deprecating the Structured Data Testing Tool and recommended the use of the Rich Results Test.
Google highlights the following reasons to use the Rich Results Test instead of the Structured Data Testing:
- Focused on what your markup will do for search results, rather than simply outlining structured data
- Works on structured data that is loaded dynamically via Javascript, in addition to static structured data in the HTML
- Checks both the Desktop and Mobile versions of a page, rather than one at a time.
- Aligned with the various reports from Google Search Console
