Equality, representation, and justice for all: words that embody the American ethos and the values of our legal system. Representative juries are the manifestation of that ethos; yet, racial biases have skewed juries toward an underrepresentation of racial minorities. As a result, many trials can produce wrongful convictions and unfair sentences for Black people and people of color.
Join us in our free, upcoming Justia webinar as Angie Setzer explores the history of racial bias in jury selection and provides insights into strategies you can employ to confront discrimination in jury selection!
