New Features to Help New Clients Find You: Announcing Three New Features on the Justia Lawyer Directory

As part of our commitment to helping lawyers find new clients, and helping clients find the right lawyer, Justia is pleased to announce a trio of new features for the Justia Lawyer Directory. Consumers now have a user-friendly tool to compare lawyers, a simple way to save lawyer profiles, and quick access to recently viewed lawyer profiles.

The Justia Lawyer Directory has long been a tremendous resource for consumers and businesses to find attorneys. Our robust profiles help lawyers put their best foot forward and make a great first impression to potential clients. We’ve recently launched three powerful new features to help consumers in their quest to find an attorney.

Compare Lawyer Tool

The Justia Lawyer Directory is one of the largest attorney directories. Every attorney licensed to practice in the U.S. can create or claim their profile for free and update it with information. It can sometimes be overwhelming trying to choose which attorney to contact.

To aid consumers and businesses in the selection process, we’ve introduced a comparison tool that allows users to compare key details of different attorney profiles side by side. For all profiles in the directory, each entry now includes a Compare checkbox. When a user clicks this checkbox, the attorney is added to the Compare Lawyers tab at the bottom of the screen. After checking two or three attorneys for comparison, the user can click a Compare button in the tab, and a special comparison view page will put key details of each attorney side by side.

The first thing that appears on the comparison tool is your rating from other attorneys, and the number of reviews that you have received from these attorneys. The next item is the number of reviews that you have received from clients. It is important that you try to obtain some reviews if you don’t currently have any. You can request both attorney and client reviews from within the editing pages of your profile, or you can just email your profile URL to other attorneys and clients and request that they click on the “Review This Lawyer” button. It is also important to make sure that your profile has the details that users will see when comparing you with your competitors. Be sure to fill out your profile as completely as possible, with special attention paid to Practice Areas, Law Degree and School, Years of Experience, and Jurisdictions where you are licensed to practice. Also be sure to indicate the payment terms that you accept, such as free consultations, contingent fees, or payment by credit card.

Finally, the comparison tool displays your photo and basic contact information with links to your profile, website, and contact form. Be sure that you stand out when compared side by side. Complete your profile today.

Saved Profiles

Listing pages and profile pages now contain a Save icon. Potential clients can use this link to easily save your profile to make it easy to find and view later. Profiles that have been saved show up in the Saved tab of the drawer at the bottom of directory pages.

The most recently saved profiles show up on the bottom of every page, with a button leading to a page where the user can view all the profiles that they have saved.

A user can add profiles to their saved profiles list and remove profiles from the list at any time.

Recently Viewed Profiles

Even when a user neglects to save a profile, they can easily get back to profile pages that they have recently viewed. Recently viewed profiles are contained in another tab of the drawer on the bottom of every page. As with the saved profiles feature, the last few viewed profiles are displayed on the bottom of every page, with a button leading to a separate page that lists all the profiles that the user has recently viewed. This feature makes it easier for users to get back to a profile that they have recently seen.
