For the second year in a row, Justia will be live blogging sessions at Google I/O 2018 next week. Take a look at some of the sessions we'll be live blogging and be sure to come back next week starting Tuesday, May 8, right here on Justia's Legal Marketing & Technology Blog.
It is that time of year again. Google’s biggest developer event of the year, Google I/O 2018, is just one week away. The Shoreline Amphitheatre is just down the road from Justia’s Mountain View headquarters so I decided to once again take a little walk over to see how the preparations are coming. The structures for this year’s sessions are up and preparations are well underway. Google’s event crew is preparing for thousands of developers, press, and tech enthusiasts to attend to find out the latest developments from Google. As I have every year, I will be among the throngs of developers excitedly cheering the latest news from the tech giant. Just like last year, I’ll be live blogging several sessions here on Justia’s Legal Marketing & Technology Blog so that you can get my up-close and personal view of all the latest.
Last year I posted here a list of sessions I intended on live-blogging in advance, with the caveat that the list might change. In order to make sure they have as many surprises as possible for the keynote, Google has a tendency of keeping the session descriptions vague before the conference, and then updating them following the keynote as the new products and services are announced. As a result, the list of sessions I actually attended last year changed considerably from what I promised I would attend once those announcements were made and the session descriptions were updated. Because of this, I’m not going to put a full list here, just to have it change later. Looking at the sessions that are currently mapped, there are, however, a few sessions that I can pretty much guarantee I’ll attend:
- Developer Keynote
- The Web: State of the Union
- Lessons from Spectre and Meltdown, and how the whole web is getting safer
- Integrate content with the Google Assistant using AMP and markup
- Build a successful web presence with Google Search
I’ve registered for several other sessions, so expect to see more live blogs than these, but some of those other choices may change following the Keynote if it turns out other sessions are more worthy of being live-blogged. See you right here on Justia’s Legal Marketing & Technology Blog next week for a second year of live-blogging.
