Google announced on Tuesday, February 18 the release of some changes to its Google Search Console Change of Address tool.
Google just announced on Twitter the release of some subtle but useful improvements to its Change of Address tool within its Google Search Console platform. The improvements would provide the following benefits:
Validate that the top 5 URLs of the moving domain are being redirected: Making sure every URL redirects properly to its new address is a critical part of this process. Having proper redirects prevents the loss of traffic and ensures that potential users have access to your site during this transition.
Add a reminder of the moving process within the Search Console platform: Having a reminder for both the moving and destination domains within Google Search Console could avoid confusion for those using this platform to manage the website.
